BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES

MEMBERS Present: Steve Brennan, Anthony Hyatt, David Seifritz, Jim Froio, David Tarr, Eric Stanzcyk, Nancy Lobello, Paul Randall, Marty Ivery, Mike Hyde.

                                                                                              

Meeting: 6:00 pm at Barbagallo, Wednesday September 21, 2016

      1. Atlantics are in Nine Mile Creek and Nine Mile is low.
      2. Red flag testing to continue. New person in charge regionally.  No issues.
    6. FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT: Dave Seifritz, Steve Brennan
      1. Dave and Steve planning to go to Bank of America to set up savings account that was approved by BOD previously.
    7. NOMINATION: Dave Tarr, Jim Froio
      1. Need to come up with a new board member to replace Vicky. Paul is working nights but would like to stay on BOD.  BOD is ok with that.
    8. CHAPTER MEETINGS / CALENDAR:
      1. Monthly themes / Programs / Speakers
        1. October meeting will be the Friends of Carpenters Brook Hatchery and ESF Trout Bums plus the business meeting.
        2. November meeting will be Dave Simmons about the Sportsmans Federation and Trappers and possibly Carl Kapfer.

OLD BUSINESS

 

  1. FINANCIAL BYLAW CHANGES:

    1. Dave S. and Steve B. to set up new savings account at Bank of America per previous BOD approval.
  4. BYLAW CHANGES FOR OCTOBER ANNUAL MEETING:
    1. Auditing system: Dave Tarr is to review the books monthly (generally) for anything that does not look normal or appropriate.  It would be helpful if a quick note to the BOD on the review stated that nothing looked abnormal as record of the review.
    2. Annual third party audit: Dave S. has a third party that will review the books and perform an audit in October.
    3. Board of Directors election process.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. PRESENTATIONS FOR 2016/2017
    1. Start having two presentations at each meeting. One will be a related organization and one is a presenter.
    2. October meeting will be the Friends of Carpenters Brook Hatchery and ESF Trout Bums plus the business meeting.
    3. November meeting will be Dave Simmons about the Sportsmans Federation and Trappers and possibly Carl Kapfer.
    4. Other suggestions included: Emily Zollweg (DEC), Casting Clinic at the Hatchery in May, “Rocky” Rockwell presentation, The Delaware River, Ken Tutalo, Rich Strolis, Andy Dober, Fly Rod Company (Diamondback, TFO, Orvis)
    5. Need to discuss other months further.
  2. BOARD OF DIRECTOR ELECTIONS – OCTOBER
    1. Paul Randall agreed to stay on as a BOD Member
  3. TIE-ONE-ON: future meetings.
    1. Discussion occurred about a way to reduce the number of Tie-One-On Meetings this year by having people responsible for various aspects of the event and limiting meetings.
  4. Sportsman’s Days
    1. Need volunteers.
  5. Friends of the Hatchery – Fish Tank
    1. BOD agreed to provide $5000.00 donation for the Fish Tank.
    2. BOD does not want to enter into the proposed Memorandum of Agreement.
    3. BOD wants FOCFH to agree to allow Iroquois Chapter use of the tank once per year.
    4. Discuss at the October Chapter meeting with all members present to see if there is any objection.
  6. COMMITTEES ASSIGNMENTS FOR 2016/2017

VOTES / MOTIONS:

  1. DONATION TO FRIENDS OF CARPENTERS BROOK FISH HATCHERY for the fishing demonstration tank:
    1. Motion: Dave Seifritz moved and Anthony Hyatt seconded a motion to donate $5000.00 to the Friends of the Carpenters Brook Fish Hatchery for the sole purpose of purchasing a new demonstration tank.
    2. Vote: 9 – 0 approved.
